Traffic police strives to ensure safety in Ho Chi Minh City
PSNews - Apart from its main task of maintaining traffic order on the route, the Traffic Police Force under the Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) Police Department also joins other forces to prevent crime and ensure peaceful life for the locals.
It was around 11 pm on a rainy day when a working group of the Railway - Road Traffic Police Division of HCMC Police led by Captain Tran Anh Tuan patroling at Dien Bien Intersection in District 2, a girl hurriedly ran to the team saying that her friend N.Y had just been snatched by 2 suspects.
After being reported, the team promptly pursured the two suspects through many routes. They finally stopped the two men and took them to the check point but those two suddenly ran away toward different directions.
At Ut Tich Street, Tan Binh Distrcit, the suspects threw the stolen phone away and tried to escape. The traffic police team decided to run into the suspects and together with police officers arrested the suspects.
On receiving her lost phone, Ms N.Y thanked the police officers, especially Captain Tran Anh Tuan, for their good deeds.
The story of the An Lac Traffic Police Team helping lost little girl find her family is also a heart-touching one reflecting the beautiful image of the HCMC Traffic Police.
At 7.30 pm on July 14, when Captain Nguyen Van Trieu and Captain Pham Thanh Binh were patroling along Highway 1 in Tan Kien Commune, Binh Chanh District, they spotted a litte girl walking on the road crying.
The two traffic police officers came to the kid and asked her about her parents’ names and her home address. But, the girl couldn’t remember as she was very frightened, cold and hungry.
They took the girl to the traffic booth nearby and provided her with food, and at the same time searched for her parents. The girl lately confessed that she is 5 years old. Her dad is Han and her mom is Nhung.
At 10 pm on same day, the police found her mother. They then informed her mother, named Pham Thi Hong Nhung, of her lost daughter.
Mrs.Nhung said that, her child named Quynh. She went to her grandmother's house before getting lost on the way. The family was so worried about her and was looking for her, before receiving the good news from the Traffic Police team.
On another day, the HCMC Traffic Police Force also successfully counselled the man having dangerous thoughts and saved his life. The man also later thanked the force for all their help.
It was a chilly night when the working group of the Sai Gon South Traffic Police Team led by Captain Le Vo Nhat Nam patroling around Phu My Bridge, they spotted a man attempting suicide by jumping from the bridge.
Captain Nhan Nam quickly initiated a dialogue and stopped the expat from jumping off the bridge in the nick of time.
The man was sitting at the edge of the bridge when the police mediators spoke to him and tried to convince him not to take the extreme step. As one police officer engaged him in conversation, another personnel grabbed the man from behind, and two other officials leapt in action to drag him away from danger.
The man, lately said that his name is N.H.A, wanted to die by suicide after losing his job in the COVID-19 pandemic. He was entangled in financial problems after he lost his job and decided to end his life. But thanks to the help of the local traffic police officers, he returned home and tried to stable his life again.
Such noble acts of the HCMC traffic police officer have contributed to ensure safety and order in the city. The good working attitude and enthusiasm of the HCMC traffic policemen have left an unforgettable impression on local people.
