Valuable lessons drawn from discussion on General Mai Chi Tho's life and career
On the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of General Mai Chi Tho (July 15, 1922 - July 15, 2022), the Public Security Central Party Committee and Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee co-organized the scientific seminar "General Mai Chi Tho with the Vietnam People's Public Security Forces and the Party Committee, the Government and the People of Ho Chi Minh City" on July 12, in Ho Chi Minh City.
On the occasion of the 100th birth anniversary of General Mai Chi Tho (July 15, 1922 - July 15, 2022), the Public Security Central Party Committee and Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee co-organized the scientific seminar "General Mai Chi Tho with the Vietnam People's Public Security Forces and the Party Committee, the Government and the People of Ho Chi Minh City" on July 12, in Ho Chi Minh City.
General To Lam, Politburo member, Minister of Public Security; Mr. Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo Member, Secretary of the HCMC municipal Party Committee attended the event.
Delegates with a high sense of responsibility discussed and clarified the life and career of General Mai Chi Tho, former member of the Politburo, former Minister of the Interior (the Ministry of Public Security at present), former Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, and former Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
The organizers received more than 100 reports from researchers and scientists inside and outside the People's Public Security Forces.
Additionally, the seminar also heard nine speeches made by delegates who have had in-depth studies on the life and revolutionary career of General Mai Chi Tho.
Within the framework of the seminar, some delegates also highlighted the good qualities of the general, who was always loyal and devoted to the Party, the State and the people. When he was alive, he always sought ways to to build a strong government and bring a peaceful, happy and prosperous life to the people.
Concluding the event, Minister of Public Security General To Lam stated that the seminar drew valuable lessons from the life and glorious career of the general.
He said, the lessons should be learnt by leaders of Ho Chi Minh City to step up local socio-economic development and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security to build stronger Public Security Forces.
The seminar also showed the importance of further promoting General Mai Chi Tho's profound humanitarian thoughts and noble communist ideology and patriotism, contributing to educating national pride and revolutionary tradition for public security officers and soldiers as well as people of Ho Chi Minh City in particular and the people of the country in general.
