Vietnam - Angola strengthen cooperation in crime prevention and control
PSNews - A high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Public Security, led by Politburo member and Minister General To Lam, paid a working visit to the Republic of Angola from 14-15 July, at the invitation of Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Angola Eugenio Cesar Laborinho.
Within the framework of the visit, Minister To Lam had talks with the Ministers of the Interior and the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights and had a courtesy meeting with the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Angola.
At the talks between the visiting Vietnamese delegation and hosts, the two sides agreed to promote cooperation in the field of information security and continue working on the signing of cooperation agreements in the field of judicial cooperation, crime prevention and control, as well as coordinate in handling transnational crimes and crimes related to citizens of the two countries.
Especially, the two sides are committed not to allow any organization or individual to use the territory of one country to oppose the other, coordinate forces to absolutely protect the safety of senior leaders of one country visiting the other, ensure security and safety for representative offices and citizens of one country in the other country.
The Angolan leaders of Interior, Justice and Human Rights warmly welcomed and expressed delight at the visit of the high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam led by Minister To Lam to the country.
They believed that the visit would contribute to promoting relations between the two countries in general and cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and Angolan law enforcement agencies in particular.
* Within the framework of the visit, Minister To Lam and the delegation visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Angola and had talks with the staff of the embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Angola.
Minister To Lam briefly informed the Vietnamese nationals of the economic, political and social situation in Vietnam, the People's Public Security Forces’ achievements in safeguarding national security and maintaining public order and safety.
Minister To Lam and other delegates also presented and cut the ribbon to inaugurate the statue of President Ho Chi Minh at the embassy.
