Vietnam, Indonesia strengthen cooperation in anti- terrorism

The first meeting of the Joint Working Group on Anti-Terrorism Cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Indonesian National Anti-Terrorism Agency was held, on the afternoon of December 20, in Hanoi.

At the meeting, the two sides discussed issues related to anti-terrorism programs in each country, and highlighted risks and challenges threatening national security of each country.

The two sides agreed to create favorable conditions for functional forces of the two countries to meet and exchange crime situaitons, working experience and information on international and regional issues of mutual concern.

The two sides also agreed to effectively realize the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Public Security of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the National Anti-Terrorism Agency of the Republic of Indonesia on Anti-Terrorism Cooperation" signed in December 2022 by regularly exchanging information about terrorism through the hotline between the two sides.

* Earlier, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang hosted a meeting with Deputy Director of the Indonesian National Anti-Terrorism Agency Andhika Chrisnayudhanto, who led the visiting Indonesian delegation.

At the meeting, the host highlighted positive results of the cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and relevant Indonesian authorities, including the National Counter-Terrorism Agency.

He highly valued regular information sharing, working experience exchange and high-level visit exchange between the two sides.

Mr. Andhika Chrisnayudhanto affirmed that the Indonesian side is always ready to coordinate closely with the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security in anti-terrorism.

The guest said that the Indonesian National Anti-Terrorism Agency in particular and Indonesian authorities in general wish to boost cooperation with the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, contributing to strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.
