Vietnam, Japan boosting cooperation in fire and rescue
Deputy Minister of Public Security of Vietnam Major General Nguyen Van Long received a delegation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan, led by Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications Nakagawa Takamoto, on the occasion of their participation in the International Exhibition on Fire Safety and Rescue Technology & Equipment in Vietnam, on the afternoon of July 20, in Hanoi.
Deputy Minister of Public Security of Vietnam Major General Nguyen Van Long received a delegation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan, led by Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications Nakagawa Takamoto, on the occasion of their participation in the International Exhibition on Fire Safety and Rescue Technology & Equipment in Vietnam, on the afternoon of July 20, in Hanoi.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long affirmed that the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and Japanese relevant agencies have implemented several practical cooperation activities over the past time on the basis of the extensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
Functioning as the government body responsible for fire and rescue, the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam has received much support from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan. The Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam has sent many officers to Japan to join training programson building the capacity of the fire and rescueforce.
The two sides now are working on procedures for the implementation of the project on improving capacity of the Vietnamese fire and rescue force.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long suggested that the two sides promote cooperation activities, including high-level delegations exchange, sharing experiences in fire and rescue state management and experiences in performing tasks in the air, at sea, in difficult-to-access areas as well as responding to natural disasters and climate change.
Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan Nakagawa Takamoto sincerely thanked Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long for the meeting and affirmed that he will do his best to promote the relationship between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan in particular, Japanese relevant agencies in general, contributing to strengthening the cooperation and relationship between the two countries.
