H’Hen Nie achieves Top 5 finish in Miss Universe 2018

H’Hen Nie marked a historical landmark for Vietnamese beauty upon clinching a Top 5 spot in the grand finale of the Miss Universe 2018 pageant in Thailand on December 17.

Catriona Gray, 24, from the Philippines was finally crowned as Miss Universe 2018.

Catriona Gray was the winner of Miss Philippines 2016 and Miss Universe Philippines 2018. In 2016 she had represented the Philippines at the Miss World beauty pageant and was listed among the Top 5.

The representatives from the Philippines and South Africa await the final result expectantly.

The Top 3 finalists were made up of beauties from South Africa, the Philippines and Venezuela.

H’Hen Nie is the first Vietnamese representative to achieve a Top 5 finish. Making up the rest of the Top 5 were girls from Venezuela, Puerto Rico, the Philippines and South Africa.

H’Hen Nie looked charming dressed in an evening gown for the event.

The Vietnamese beauty is 1.72 meters tall and measures 83-60-97.

She looked incredible when posing in a yellow swimsuit.

The representative from Laos came first in the national costume segment.

H’Hen Nie burst into tears when she was named in the Top 10. Others in the Top 10 include representatives from South Africa, Venezuela, the Philippines, Costa Rica, Curacao, Nepal.

The ethnic Ede girl introduced herself after she was listed in the Top 20.

The Vietnamese entrant can’t hide her happiness after making it into the Top 20 finalists.

The parents of H’Hen Nie flew from Vietnam’s Dak Lak Province to Thailand in support of their daughter.

Mau Thuy, the second runner-up of Miss Universe Vietnam 2017, was present in Thailand to encourage H’Hen Nie.
