Archives on traditional Tet introduces to public

PSNews - On the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year, the National Archives Centre No 1 kicked of an exhibition on traditional Tet, introducing to public unique documents and images depicting the country’s traditional Tet and the diverse range of interesting activities of the spring market.

The National Archives Centre No 1 opened the exhibition on the Lunar New Year festival, known locally as Tet, on January 14 in Hanoi to recreate the space of a traditional Vietnamese Tet through archived documents.

A collection of 100 unique documents and images depicting the country’s traditional Tet and the diverse range of interesting activities were introduced at an exhibition.

 The content of the exhibition is divided into three themes: Spring Market, Welcoming Spring, and Spring Travel, bringing everyone an opportunity to immerse themselves in the joyful, bustling and colorful scene, and to shop for Tet holiday and learn more about rituals, customs and practices on the occasion of the Lunar New Year, which always play an important role in the spiritual lives of all Vietnamese people.

From the documents and images of the exhibition, the organizers hope that the public will rediscover the beauty of the old Tet and at the same time provide a reliable source of historical data for the research, preservation and promotion of traditional Vietnamese culture.

The exhibition is scheduled to run from January 14 to March 15 at the National Archives Center No 1 in Hanoi.
