Da Nang begins to inoculate children with Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine

The central city of Da Nang started its COVID-19 vaccination scheme for students aged between 15 and 18 on November 2, becoming the first locality in the central region to begin the process of vaccinating children.

Students form long queues in the early morning at an inoculation site at the Tien Son sports complex.

Students maintain a safe distance as part of efforts to curb the potential spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Up to 8,400 students from the 10th to 12th grades are set to receive their first shot at the site between November 2 and November 4.

Only children who have a written agreement from parents or guardians will be able to be vaccinated.

Approximately 46,000 children in this age group across the central city will be administered throughout November.

Students have their health checked before they get the vaccination. The site also features mobile emergency teams and ambulances in order to handle any adverse event following the inoculation.

Each student must be monitored for at least 30 minutes following their injection at the site.

The Pfizer vaccine is to be used to immunise children aged between 15 and 18 against COVID-19.

A student is eager to receive a COVID-19 vaccination certificate.
