Immigration Department launches 40 online public services last year
The Immigration Department under the Ministry of Public Security held a conference to evaluate its task performance in 2023 and roll out its work plan in 2024, on December 29, in Hanoi.
Under the authority of the State President, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang awards the Third Class “Fatherland Protection” Order to the Office for Immigration and Exit Management of Vietnamese Citizens.
In 2023, under the direction of the Public Security Central Party Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, as well as with the close coordination of local-level police units, the Immigration Department has basically completed its central missions and 2023 work plan, and achieved all set objectives.
Further, the department has successfully fulfilled tasks assigned by the Government, the Prime Minister, and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security.
To improve the quality of its work, the department has actively applied information technology, other scientific and technological advances.
During the year, it launched level-4 40 online public services in the field of immigration; issued electronic visas, and established automatic entry control gates at five international airports, creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese people and international visitors.
Speaking at the conference, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang highly appreciated and praised the Immigration Department for their good work results in the year. 2023.
Regarding its major tasks in the coming time, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang requested the Immigration Department to mobilize resources for and ensure progress and quality of key projects, seriously study and overcome shortcomings, improve the quality of its 40 online public services to satisfy the need of Vietnamese people and international visitors while effectively preventing and controlling illegal immigration as well as drastically handling violations of exit and entry laws.
