PSNews - Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Le Van Tuyen chaired a working session on preparations for the organization of a ministerial-level scientific workshop as well as on drafting the governmental project "Research on models to ensure order, security and social safety in current urban management", on the afternoon of March 3, in Hanoi.

On November 11, 2022, the Government issued Resolution No.148 announcing the Government's Action Program to implement Resolution No.06 of the Politburo on planning, construction, management and sustainable development of Vietnam’s urban areas to 2030 with a vision to 2045.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Public Security was assigned to take the leading position, coordinating with ministries, branches and provincial-level people's committees to develop the project.

The project is of great significance and of a macro scale, containing new contents, covering a wide scope and different fields, and involving various ministries, branches. The project is unprecedented, requiring an intensive application of science and technology, innovation while promoting digital transformation in urban management.

The work of ensuring urban security and order aims to firmly safeguard the Fatherland, strengthen the political system, protect the legitimate rights and interests of citizens, as well as to contribute to neutralizing sabotage plots, preventing acts dangerous to society while preserving material and spiritual values and creating a safe and stable legal environment for all social activities.

Overview of the meeting.

Currently, researching and building a model to ensure security and order in urban management is an urgent requirement and also an important part of the overall missions of safeguarding national security and ensuring public order and safety in urban areas.

Regarding the preparation for the scientific workshop, delegates made specific and detailed comments on the draft agenda.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen praised the functional units of the Ministry of Public Security for their effort to prepare for the scientific workshop and draft the project.

The Deputy Minister suggested that the involved units continue to strengthen the organization of the Workshop Steering Committee and the Project Support Team, complete the agenda for the scientific workshop with a focus on clarifying theoretical and practical issues related to the security and order model while actively proposing feasible solutions to build urban security and order models suitable to the characteristics of urban areas in Vietnam.
