Mobile police force successfully fulfills tasks in 2021 while contributing to fighting COVID
The Mobile Police Command (MPC) held a conference on January 4 under the chair of Commander Lieutenant General Pham Quoc Cuong to roll out the force’s work plan for 2022.
The event saw the presence of Major General Le Quoc Hung, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security.
A report on the mobile police’s performance of tasks in 2021 read that, in 2021, the force has actively and flexibly adapted its operation to the COVID situation, particularly playing their key role in the fight against COVID-19.
During the COVID outbreaks, the MPC sent some 5,700 officers and soldiers to support police forces in pandemic-hit localities in tracing suspects of COVID, zoning areas with high rates of COVID infection, guarding quarantine areas, ensuring traffic order and safety, and facilitating goods transportation.
In the year, a large number of mobile police officers and soldiers were deployed to safeguard key projects, special shipments, and important events of the country. Meanwhile, thousands of mobile policemen participated in destroying large-scaled criminal rings.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung asked the Party Committee and leaders of the Mobile Police Command to actively improve their leadership of the mobile police force in performing assigned tasks.
He asked the force to make greater efforts to become a revolutionary, professional, elite and modernized police force by 2025.
Amidst complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung noted that the MPC should take comprehensive measures to prevent the spread of the pandemic into the force while being ready to support provincial police forces in fighting the pandemic, suppressing crimes and dealing with security-related complex issues.
