Police in Central Highlands, South Center and South asked to take efficient measures against COVID-19

PSNews - Recently, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security, chaired an online meeting with the police of provinces and cities in the Central Highlands, South Central and Southern regions to discuss measures to prevent and control the COVID-19 pandemic in the time to come.

At the meeting, representatives of the provincial-level police departments reported on the results of their COVID-19 prevention and control in their localities as well as proposed solutions to further mobilize logistical potentials of the Public Security Forces for the fight against the pandemic in the current situation.

According to the reports, over the past time, under the direction of the Party and the Government, as well as the National Steering Committee for Pandemic Prevention and Control, the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) directed the Public Security Forces to effectively perform their tasks as well as to implement the emulation movement “The Public Security Forces serve as a shield against the COVID-19 pandemic and a sword to protect security, social order and safety".

Particularly, the forces played a leading role in the fight against the disease, contributing to controlling the pandemic and safeguarding the people's safety and health.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son affirmed that the COVID-19 pandemic would be more complicated in the coming time. Therefore, the police forces in the Central Highlands, South Central, Southeast regions should continue advising the local authorities and Party committees to safely and flexibly adapt to, and effectively control the COVID-19 pandemic situation.

They should also continue playing a key role in and mobilize local resources for COVID-19 prevention and control while taking good care of and providing favorable working conditions for on-duty policemen, the Deputy Minister added.

He also asked the provincial-level police departments to award police officers and subunits with outstanding achievements in fighting the pandemic while promoting the beautiful images of public security officers on the frontline against the infectious disease.
