Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen attends Asia Technology Summit 2023
PSNews - A high-ranking delegation of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam led by Deputy Minister Major General Le Van Tuyen attended the 2023 Asia Tech X Summit in Singapore, on June 6 and 7, 2023.
At the roundtable session on artificial intelligence governance and online fraud on the morning of June 7, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen made a speech on "Improving the effectiveness of international cooperation in preventing and combating online fraud in the digital age", saying, "Cybersecurity challenges are increasing in terms of quantity and severity. In particular, crime with the use of high technology has increased with many new, sophisticated tricks and dangerous acts, negatively affecting many areas of life and causing much difficulty to law enforcement forces to prevent and combat".
Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen proposed approaches to effectively fight cybercrime, high-tech crime in general and online fraud in particular in the coming time.
He stressed, Vietnam and Singapore as well as other countries in the region and around the world need to join action, especially in building common legal frameworks for cooperation, maintain and expand international cooperation in cybersecurity and prevention and control of crime with the use of high technology.
On the sidelines of the conference, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen had a meeting with Permanent Minister of the Ministry of Communications and Information of Singapore Chng Kai Fong, worked with the Personal Data Protection Council (PDPC) under the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) of Singapore, visited the Institute of Home Affairs under the Ministry of Home Affairs of Singapore, and paid a call on the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore.
