Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang receives Pakistani Ambassador to Vietnam

Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Deputy Minister of Public Security  received Ms. Samina Mehtab, Ambassador of Pakistan to Vietnam who paid a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Public Security, on January 19.

During the meeting with the Pakistani ambassador, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang affirmed that Vietnam and Pakistan have a traditional, peaceful and friendly relationship.

The bilateral relations of the two countries have been maintaining and developing extensively in many fields.

In terms of politics, the two sides promote cooperation and mutual support at regional and international forums while strengthening their bilateral cooperation mechanisms, and stepping up negotiation and signing of cooperation agreements in order to deal with non-traditional security threats and international crimes.

The deputy minister suggested that the two sides should promote information and  experience sharing, delegation exchange, and support each other at international and regional forums.

Currently, the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Pakistani Ministry of Interior are considering about a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in crime prevention while negotiating an extradition agreement and an agreement on transfer of sentenced.

For her part, Ambassador Samina Mehtab asserted that with the role as the Pakistani Ambassador, she will try to strengthen the cooperation between Pakistan and Vietnam, between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and the Pakistani Ministry of Interior, contributing to ensuring the mutual interests of national security, peace and stability in each country.
